#LEAFS: Michael Hutchinson Finally Won A Game And Jake Muzzin Almost Killed A Guy. Seriously.

Michael Hutchinson finally won a game.
After 5 tries, a demotion and a save percentage well below .900, he finally broke through against the red wings tonight in a 4-1 Leaf win.
Raise your stick high Hutch. You did it and you deserve it#Leafs x #LeafsForever pic.twitter.com/a2atjLp1s3

Hyman had a couple of goals including one of Ryan Fabro’s faves, ‘The Backie Shelf”.
Man what a goal tonight by Zach Hyman tho! pic.twitter.com/4oglUVa7V2

Just what the Doctor ordered! ⚕️
Michael Hutchinson stops 29 of 30 shots to win his first game of the season. Leafs get 2 goals each from Matthews and Hyman as the #LeafsForever beat Detroit 4-1.#GoLeafsGo pic.twitter.com/Xvryg82fNR

It wasn’t a walk either. Hutchinson stopped 29 of 30 including this glove save late in the third to protect a shut out later spoiled by a power-play goal by the Red Wings on a bullshit call on Muzzin who earned a roughing penalty AT BEST.
Hutchinson flashes the leather. #LeafsForever pic.twitter.com/KqW6ndNqcm

The night was defined mele that resulted in the Wings scoring on the pp where Muzzin Muzzin took a double minor for a perfectly legal check. As an added bonus, Muzzin was attacked viciously from behind by some guy that looks like ABBA’s love child and was forced to defend himself as any player would after being slashed and grabbed from behind. All I see are two hockey plays and a couple of offsetting penalties. That’s it.
Mantha and Muzzin scrumming. Muzzin grabbed Mantha’s face, swept his leg, and threw him backwards onto the ice. Mantha hit his head hard. Down for a long time.
Slewfoot/leg sweep/whatever. Dangerous and stupid. #LGRW #LeafsForever pic.twitter.com/B9L5ELughl

That’s not what happened, @ryanhanawwp. What happened was Anthony Mantha flew WAY to close to the sun and Jake Muzzin wasn’t having it.
Jake Muzzin and Anthony Mantha tussle, and Mantha goes down hard.
Wishing the best for Mantha, this doesn’t look good.

There was no slew foot or intentional grabbing of the face. That was raw animal instinct manifested in a man that ended in Mantha eating ice. It happens all the time. It’s not Muzzin’s fault Mantha is light on his skates and 40 pounds lighter than Muzzin. It’s like pushing a child with the same force you would shove an adult with. It’s Darwinism, not roughing or a four-game suspension.
Mantha chose this when he took exception to a TOTALLY legal and fucking devastating hit by Muzzin on a teammate with his head down.
If I’ve said it once I’ve said it a million times; “you should never live life or cross the blue line with your head down”.
Both Red Wings were hurt by their own stupidity, not Jake Muzzin so accept it before you slander the man on Social media with your whiny tweets about suspensions and how much you ‘Hate’ Jake Muzzin.
If you’re a Leaf fan you get to blame the refs for feeling sorry for Anthony Mantha’s stupidity OR just blame Mantha for ruining the shutout.
It woulda been a fairytale ending and a complete fucking BONUS if Hutch got the S/O but the Leafs winning back to back games feels like the bonus so let’s all just shut up and enjoy it. Unless Muzzin gets games, then pepper the @NHL with hatemail.
Hutch Wins
Leafs win.
T’s & P’s Anthony Mantha.
Sheldon Keefe.
In. That. Order.
