Man Yielding A ‘Large Butcher’s Knife’ Arrested Outside Premier Doug Ford’s Home
CTV: A man who was wielding a “large butcher’s knife” was arrested outside of Premier Doug Ford’s Etobicoke home on Monday night, his office confirms.
According to a spokesperson for the Premier’s Office, the man showed up at the suburban home and started yelling threats.
“An OPP officer was on site and arrested the man immediately,” Ivana Yelich said in a statement.
“The premier thanks the officer for his quick action and bravery, which resulted in no harm to anyone involved in the incident.”
Ford’s home has been the site of numerous protests over the last year. In a November 2020 news conference, the premier lashed out at individuals for protesting the province’s lockdown measures and disrupting his neighbours, calling them “buffoons.”
“I have the best neighbours anyone could ever ask for. They didn’t sign up for this, they aren’t making decisions for the government, it is totally unfair. It’s unacceptable that they have to put up with this because they’re living beside the premier,” Ford said at the time.
Thankfully, the Premier and his family are alright. I think Doug is a tool, but you never like to see someone’s safety threatened.
The man (thought to be angry about the ongoing lockdown) was only at Ford’s home for a couple of minutes before an on-duty OPP officer put the dickhead in bracelets.
Is anyone else here surprised that an anti lockdown, anti-science nutbag was arrested with a butcher’s knife at Ford’s house? If you’re keeping track, that’s the second alleged threat to Ford’s life if you count Chris Sky’s alleged slur. Trudeau is well into double digits in terms of death threats, but we don’t hear about those. All of the threats have come from anti-lockdown ‘patriots’.
It makes me wonder how excited Ford’s campaign people were to get this story out. Empathy gets votes and a psycho with a butcher’s knife camped outside your house might be just what Ford’s slumping poll numbers need.
I’m sure the threat is real and I’m glad everyone’s ok, but this is the kind of story that comes in handy around election time.
