Maple Leafs Ilya Mikheyev’s Injury Update: It’s Bad.
Ilya Mikheyev of the Toronto Maple Leafs has had a successful surgery to repair an artery and tendons in his wrist. He is expected to make a full recovery but a more accurate timeline for his return will be provided in 90 days.

The keywords in that tweet from Ilya’s agent Dan Milstein? ‘Expected to make a full recovery.’ That’s a shitty, shitty injury that might change the range of motion or some mechanics for Mikheyev but he could have easily bled out.
Mikheyev’s absence a big miss for the Maple Leafs who are on a heater since Sheldon Keefe took over and ‘Soupy’ Mikheyev has been everything and more w 8G (incl one last night) 15A for 23 pts. He was having a terrific night until Jesper Bratt tried to cut Ilya’s hand off.
The really incredible part of the injury was Ilya’s presence of mind to get the puck to a teammate before skating to the bench like his hair was on fire.
If he’s out for three months I fully expect his English from watching Friends on Netflix to be next to perfect when he returns in April.
Prayers up big boy. Wiping your ass will be a challenge but you’ll get the hang of it, kid.
