First, let’s start with the Lindgren hit on Donskoi.

The video comes later, but frankly, I hate seeing these type of hits. That is the exact hit that scared the shit out of me every single game going back as a kid. I remember watching ‘Rockem Sockem’ and seeing Scott Stevens kill the Big E. Reminded me that, I did not want to ever be the Big E!

But I also remember in junior and even younger targeting the head for the big hit. And now older I find that thinking insane. I hope Donskoi takes the proper time off to let his head rest and makes a full return.

Do I think it’s clean? No. He caught himself with a great spot to fuck someone up, especially with a player in a vulnerable position. Now sometimes you take the shot like I did on Volchenkov here. And sometimes you pass it up. I found early in my career I was much more willing.

And then we have the ass whooping Kadri gave Lindgren after the hit:

My god that was one-sided, and I loved it. I played with Kadri he is a standup teammate. Players like him because not only is he a great guy and a lot of fun in the room, but he will battle in the trenches with his fellow teammate any day.  He’s ready and willing to do whatever it takes to win.

Now at times it can get the best of him with suspensions but fuck what do you want out of the guy he plays on that line. And sometimes emotions run high like a Friday night and well you know how that goes.

And lastly, in my Oh Fuck moments from the NHL, we have Chara getting tagged by….

The fucking balls on this kid must be huge to just dummy one of his Chara’s teammates with a hit and have Chara the next second coming after you. Fuck that, no chance, that would call for my head down throwing bombs. Chara got greedy on the ‘uppercut ko’ he was looking for and then boom….. stars! I feel for Trenin, as how much anxiety would you have leading up to the next game with Boston? Round 2? I guess we will see.
