Meet Ron Ruckstuhl, a lifelong Maple Leafs fan who had one wish

Shug McSween Nov 13, 2019

Ron Ruckstuhl has been cheering for the Maple Leafs his entire life, it doesn’t matter how close to Ottawa or Montreal he lives.

It’s been blue and white since day one, no matter the score. Ron watches from his television set intently, daydreaming of one day seeing a live game in Toronto. Unfortunately, Ron received some heart-breaking news roughly 3 years ago, as he was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. The news shook his family to their core and understandably so.

The battle continues for Ron, but it’s not without some amazing moments along the way, thanks to his son, the NHL, Biz and Auston Matthews of the Maple Leafs.
