Monday Movie Motivation: Women taking center stage…it’s about time.
We have a couple Trailers to get your Monday blood pumping. I’m sure you’ve seen them by this stage but feck it, Scarlett and Gal kicking ass are re-watchable… numerous times! To quote Dan, this was us watching these trailers as well!

Scarlett Johannsen returning as Black Widow and Gal Gadot returning as Wonder Woman are hitting the big screen next year and both dropped their first trailers recently. Judging from Twitter reactions (which life is based on apparently) y’all are pretty stoked at these ones.
You also seem pleased that these both look better than Captain Marvel? We’re not ready to take sides. We here at db.com have enough respect to go around! Let’s not forget The Eternals and Birds of Prey are cued up for 2020 as well and both feature female leads. We think it’s a great thing to have more women headlining these franchises and hope it continues for good. (Tempted to throw a Ricky Gervais joke in here… NO, stop it Dave… be better. Ok fine.)
Now, I know what some of you are going to say… these are all Superhero, comic book fluff and not really using women as leads respectfully… actually a good few of you have taken this stance. Again, we respect your opinions. Maybe we are just really fecking excited to see more of our favorite characters come to life on screen.
What we will reassure you, is that if you don’t think to have more of a lead presence won’t lead to further prominence in (non-fluff) film then you are not giving these great actors their due or respecting their choice to take these roles. Stop thinking so much, grab some popcorn and enjoy the fun for what these movies are supposed to be… fecking fun!
