The Maple Leafs New Vaccine Mandate Policy Is Total Bullshit

Ontario is probably the only province where anti-vaxxers get to help shape our pandemic health policies.

Today our chain-smoking maniac of a Premier, Doug Ford announced basically that all medical professionals, LTC, and HC workers need to get vaccinated.  Kind of.

In place of vaccination, health care workers will be subject to mandatory testing, but no one HAS to get vaccinated, so it’s all basically bullshit wrapped in a vaccine mandate.

Same with this announcement from the Leafs’ parent company MLSE.  It’s a total cop-out, for money.

Anti-vaxxers are winning.

The fact that they’re in any daylight with their fugazi vaccine mandate is laughable to me.  Sports BEHEMOTH MLSE and Ontario’s Head of State are choosing the path of least resistance with an eye to protecting their own interests over doing what’s CLEARLY in the best interest of the greater good.

It smells like my dearly departed grandad’s soggy old piss-stained chair that I had the displeasure of throwing out after he died.

Come ON, you guys.

You can’t have it both ways and generate any goodwill from trying to placate everyone when our best science says you should have a zero-tolerance policy and it fucking sucks that you are forcing responsible consumers into situations where they accept ALL the health risk involved in rolling the dice.

I know there would be exceptions for people who CAN’T be vaccinated.  I know mandating vaccines would exclude kids under 12 and that they are always exempt but the messaging sucks as does the size of the loophole they put in their new ‘mandate policies’.

It would be fucking INCREDIBLE if just once, someone made a decision based on the best interest of the people who’ve been fucking EATING it this whole time.
