It’s mid-March so you know what that means sports fans!?! The receptionist at your office is going to start asking if you want in on the March Madness pool even though nobody in your office has ever seen a game of college basketball. You’ll feel obligated to do it because you don’t want to be the only one who doesn’t participate. But you’ll have no idea what you are doing or what you are selecting so that’s why this year, I took a different approach.
I had my bracket in front of me and I started asking Siri to flip a coin. Heads, the top team wins. Tails, the bottom team wins. I did this for every match-up in a snake pattern. Top to bottom, bottom to top along the East until I had my winner coming out of the East which ended up being the Akron Zips. I then repeated the process on the West with the Richmond Spiders emerging victorius. Two teams I had no idea existed will be in the final match-up. Book it!
For the final match-up I moved away from Siri because there was no obvious “top pick” but stuck with technology and used PickerWheel.com to decide.
CONGRATULATIONS to The Akron Zips who most certaintly win this year’s tournament.
As for the tie-break score predicition I googled “average NCAA men’s basketball score” and rounded up to 68. SCIENCE!
I’ll keep you all up-to-date as the tourney progresses. I promise I’ll still do better than half of the “experts” out there.
