The NO FUN LEAGUE!!
The NFL didn’t get its nickname by going to party’s where there are bowls full of random keys. Instead, they have been slowly sucking the fun out of the game, and taking the personality out of everything that is great about competitive sports.
Here is the most recent victim of the NFL’s reinforced taunting rule:

Kansas City Chiefs running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire was given a taunting penalty for simply pointing at a very slow linebacker who was unable to meet him at the goal line. By the letter of the law, this is taunting. My point is the letter of the law is stupid and is taking all personality and swag out of the game! It is altering the product on the field by enforcing the most Mickey Mouse type infractions.
We all remember the time Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster laid out Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict, on a blindside crack block, and proceeded to stand over him flexing.

Any sane person can see the glaring differences in those two plays. One is a taunt (and attempt to kill) and one is not. I absolutely would respect the NFL for trying to remove plays like the above because that’s not helping grow the sport. But what is also not growing the sport, are these ridiculous taunting calls that result in on-field ramifications to the game.
The taunting rule needs to be looked at ASAP by the competition committee and revised to penalize blatant taunts that are detrimental to the game. I’m sure Deion Sanders’ Prime Time high step into the endzone would have to be called according to the new letter-of-the-law rule, which would have curtailed one of the most iconic NFL swag plays the game has ever seen.

Put the whistles away and stop being the center of the game!
