As much as I love watching the Jays and Major League Baseball, June belongs to College ball. Both the men’s and women’s College World Series take place this month, and these kids have been BALLIN out. It’s like March Madness but for baseball and softball, and these games are must-watch for people who call themselves baseball fans.

The girls’ softball tournament has already come to an end with the Oklahoma Sooners taking the title. But I’d be remiss if I didn’t share my personal favourite moment from the Women’s College World Series. Oklahoma State University’s catcher Raquel Dominguez absolutely RIPS this water bottle shotgun while her coach is doing an in-game interview. What. A. Send.

Video-bombs are one of my favourite things to see in college ball. You see some real creative stuff from players trying to mess with whoever’s being interviewed. This one from the UNC Tar Heels a few years ago is first-ballot Hall of Fame stuff. But Dominguez’s shotgun is without a doubt the newest induction.

After this weekend I’d be happy to never see another shotgun in my life but this one’s just world-class on every level. As soon as she unscrewed the bottle cap that water vanished faster than Gotye’s music career. I don’t even know what tool she used in the dugout to make the hole in that bottle but kudos to her for putting her talents on display in front of a national audience. I bet some white-haired producer at ESPN lost sleep over that getting on the broadcast.

This isn’t Raquel’s first time videobombing her coach. She’s just a natural-born entertainer. She seems like a beauty and her mic’d up segment couldn’t be more accurate of what I expected she’d be like in the dugout. Dominguez is the heartbeat of the Cowgirls’ clubhouse and she’s probably a hit at football tailgates in Stillwater with her shotgun technique.

The OSU Cowgirls had a great season that culminated in a College World Series berth as the five-seed and Dominguez deserved the limelight. This was likely the senior’s final WCWS and she made the most of it by having more fun than an aardvark at an ant farm. She embodies everything that college ball is about: being a good sport, having fun, and doing whatever it takes to fire up your team.

I realize this happened nearly a month ago. I know I’m late to the party and if you’ve already seen this, I’m sure the rewatch is just as enjoyable. I just wanted to share this send with y’all because videobombing an interview on ESPN with a water bottle shotgun is phenomenal stuff.
