Outstanding.  He hasn’t been seen in close to 60 days for anything of significance, prorogued parliament until mid-October in the heat of the fourth wave of a pandemic, but he’s here to champion RBI inc and the jewel in their Canadian hedge fund portfolio, Tim Horton’s Smile Cookies.

I don’t know if these ‘Smile Cookies’ are the best ever but all the proceeds go to sending kids to camp.  It’s also how Tim’s and other organizations bring you into their stores to pad revenue and create some goodwill for the brand.  By tagging along with your emotions they make you feel like your doing the community a favor by giving them your money on a day like today.  It’s called a loss leader and the PR around these kinds of promotions are mostly bullshit.

BUT, the ends justify the means so buy a cookie if you feel like buying a cookie if you go there today for a coffee.

The opportunity to look like he gives a shit wasn’t lost on an opportunist like Dougie.  He was probably asked by Tim Horton’s to promote this based on the fact he’s been singing the praises of their ‘new’ real egg breakfast sandwiches and to make it look like a grassroots thing,

Dougie gave credit to the family that runs his local Tim’s,  He wins, they win, kids win.  It’s a real win, win, win for everyone unless you understand the objective reality around a premier who only comes out for $1500 dollar-a-plate fundraisers and to do spots for corporate friends.
