So recently, another story about Canada’s national embarrassment, 24 Sussex, popped up in the news again. It must have been a slow news day.
NEW FROM ME: Attempts to curb rodent infestations at 24 Sussex Drive left so many carcasses and feces in the walls and basement of the now-shuttered official residence that serious concerns were raised about the air quality. https://t.co/q7lOmKh6Se

(He broke the breaking story that 24 Sussex is as broken as Pierre Poilievre.)
However, what struck me as odd is that Bryan Passifiume, who was reporting on Canada’s, if not the world’s, most enormous rat mausoleum added this tweet:
Probably the most curious part of the documents I wrote this story off of was that the property's pool house — installed in the mid-70s by Pierre Trudeau — was “still used on a very frequent basis.”
My questions on who used the pool bounced from department to department pic.twitter.com/xOyCA3KrC2

To which I responded:
TF does it matter who's using the pool house?
Trying to find another 'scandal' here? B/c it's actually being used?
PM's official residence. PM has family. So SHOCKING that they might *GASP* use the pool!#POOLGATE!!!#cdnmedia is a f*cking joke. https://t.co/iSMFOM8vpw

“BREAKING NEWS: PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN HOUSES ALSO REQUIRE NOURISHMENT. FILM AT 11!” – National Post.
Well…we all know that this isn’t news. Maybe the most significant story he broke was that things are so bad there, thanks to all the dead rats in the walls, that the last remaining staff still working there had to be relocated.
It was mostly just the kitchen staff who prepared meals for the PM and his family, then delivered them to the PM’s current residence.
Passifiume asked WHERE the staff had been relocated, and he was told simply that it was to another NCC owned/operated building. Because, you know, that’s a story worth reporting.
Poilievre’s kitchen staff working for him in Stornoway isn’t worth reporting on. Or even worth me mentioning here because, well, why? Because it’s not f*cking news.
(Candice is spending $20K to move into Stornoway for a few months, on the other hand…)
Candice Bergen’s move into Stornoway cost federal government $19,404, though she will move out in a few months https://t.co/d7VDhkEGrA

So why was he asking hard-hitting questions like “WHO IS USING THE POOL?” and “WHERE ARE THE COOKS?”
Well, I think the answer is pretty obvious. Since it was Mr. Passifiume who recently posted the “shocking” story that it cost $160K for the PM’s family vacation!!!
You know what, folks? He’s the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister of Canada cannot fly commercially. Plus, and I know this may shock some rage-addicted meme-heads out there, they ALL go on vacations.
Still, Conservative Party of Canada MP Luc Berthold submitted an ‘order paper question’ to get another ‘scandal’ in the headlines.
Prime minister’s Christmas vacation in Jamaica cost taxpayers nearly $160,000: documents.
In a response to an order paper question submitted by Conservative Party MP Luc Berthold, the weeklong vacation to an undisclosed resort in the Caribbean nation cost $159,066.91 in flight, lodging and security costs.
You all remember that Poilievre criticized Trudeau over using the ‘private jet’ and wouldn’t say if he’d use it himself. Maybe someone from #cdnmedia should ask #PeePee if he’d go on vacation if he were PM!
VIDEO: PIERRE POILIEVRE (DOESN’T) ANSWER IF HE’D USE PM’S JET IF HE’S PM
In 2012 the CBC reported on Harper’s Labour Day weekend trip to Manhattan, costing taxpayers $45,000. However, costs were not provided related to security for Harper’s trip.
Harper’s baseball trip hit taxpayers with a $45,000 tab
“Costs were not provided related to the RCMP officers who accompanied the prime minister on this personal trip. RCMP officials say the documents detailing those expenses can’t be released because they contain sensitive information that could affect security and the conduct of international affairs. RCMP are required to accompany Harper for security reasons even on personal travels.”
So isn’t that funny?
When Trudeau takes a trip, the cost of security is reported and RIGHT THERE IN THE HEADLINE. But those costs couldn’t be said when Harper did due to security reasons.
Well, what do you get if you take $160,000 and subtract the cost of security for Trudeau’s trip ($115,526)? (Any…anybody got a calculator?)
Oh…so the week-long trip for the Trudeau family cost about the same as Harper’s few days in NYC.
Again I ask. Why hone in on who was using the pool? I think it’s apparent that it was just another cheap attempt to cook up a new “scandal.” A failed attempt but a shot nonetheless. Especially with the history of it being built by Pierre Trudeau. However, asking who is using it now is just stupid and petty.
So because of the latest attempt at a scandal, what could only be named Canada’s #WaterGate (pool..watergate…get it?) I thought I’d go back and look at five Trudeau scandals, sorry I mean “scandals” you forgot about!
More to follow…
