Everything is political, according to Joel. He is a political pundit with a degree in the stuff at University and Diploma in PR. All you need is a microphone, a headset, a hell of a work ethic and the willingness to speak the truth, and that's exactly what he does.

To highlight the truth of Canada’s most diverse region: the 905.

His earliest political memory is marching out of his high school in protest of the, then, Mike Harris Ontario government’s education policies. It sparked an interest in politics that lead to him getting a degree in the stuff at University.

Later he learned how to talk about it by getting a Diploma in Public Relations. He’s worked as an organizer for a major political party in Ontario, and later for a brief stint at Queen’s Park. When he left professional politics and got out into the real world, he saw that people couldn’t keep up with life. Work, family, and other obligations often kept their attention away from the powers that be. The things that affected their lives the most were kept at best, as a distraction, by a media that couldn’t care less about holding the powerful to account.

Luckily, we live in an age where you don’t need a famous last name and hundreds of millions of dollars to speak the truth to power. All you need is a microphone, a headset, a hell of a work ethic and the willingness to speak the truth. It’s why he and his co-host Roland Tanner started The 905er Podcast.
