Following the annual Winter Meetings in Orlando, Florida the Toronto Blue Jays have received interest from the Philadelphia Phillies regarding Marcus Stroman.

Josh Donaldson is no longer the only member of the Toronto Blue Jays being linked to off-season trade rumours.

Now the spotlight is on Marcus Stroman.

According to Matt Gelb and Matt Breen of Philly.com, the Philadelphia Phillies have inquired about acquiring Stroman from the Blue Jays.

After signing free agent first baseman Carlos Santana to a three-year $60 million contract the Phillies don’t seem to be finished with their off-season moves so far and are reportedly in the market for a starting pitcher.

According to Gelb and Breen the Phillies have also asked about other starting pitchers such as Danny Duffy of the Kansas City Royals and Chris Archer of the Tampa Bay Rays.

This is the first time Stroman’s name has come up in trade rumours as the Blue Jays have stated that they plan on being contenders in the American League in 2018.

The Blue Jays has also have said that despite interest from teams such as the St. Louis Cardinals they plan on keeping Donaldson for the 2018 regular season.

Stroman is coming off of a solid 2017 season where he went 13-7 with an 3.09 earned run average, 164 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.308. He led all Blue Jays starting pitchers in wins, innings pitched and ERA while finishing second in strikeouts.

If the Blue Jays were to entertain an offer from the Phillies it would have to start with one or more of the Phillies outfielders such as Aaron AltherrOdubel HerreraRhys Hoskinsand Nick Williams.

But it would have to be a major haul for the Blue Jays to even consider trading Stroman as he only made $3.4 million in 2017 and is under team control through 2020.

FUCK THIS!

Even though Dean would love it, Stroman shouldn’t go anywhere. He’s under team control for three more seasons, he’s not breaking the bank anytime soon, and he’s is evolving into a legit Ace right in front of our eyes.

What I love and what Jeff Blair really fucking hates is the fact Stroman is fearless and lets it be known via Twitter. As soon as Stanton got dealt to the Yanks, Stro-Show sent out this tweet.

This is exactly what you want out of your Ace.

Oh, and hey Blair, his twitter antics are really shitty eh….yeah, especially this one about spending a day with SickKids.

Or this one, on how he inspired kids at Weston.

Don’t hate the guy, he’s trying to make a difference and if everyone gave back like Stro, maybe the world would be a little bit less shitty.

Plus he’s the Jays best pitcher…at least for now.
