Pierre Poilievre Caught Red Handed Using Foreign Bots And I Can’t Stop Laughing

Aug 5, 2024

Pierre Poilievre is a far-right fraud. Like Trump, Pierre is nothing without slogans, hateful rhetoric, and an incredible digital media team that can buy digital narratives in hours, and the “Kirkland Lake” operation might be my favorite.

It seems THOUSANDS of fake accounts belonging to “people” from Honolulu to Oregon attending Pierre’s “rally” in a small Northern Ontario town, and they’re still “reeling” and “buzzing” from being to two places at once – and they’ve been tweeting the same supportive messaging for #SkinnyTrump.

I LOL’d for a solid hour this morning. At least change the copy a little so the rest of the Country doesn’t fall off our breakfast stools, PeePee. Jesus.

Digital armies aren’t new and are not exclusive to conservative politics. It’s also not illegal to use bots or traffic farms to increase engagement. Blatant digital operations differ from using ‘farms’ as a marketing tool. Pierre’s not selling books or electrified bug zappers. He’s selling hate, fear, and division, which was never more noticeable than this weekend in Kirkland Lake.

But this kind of “operation” may go against elections Canada’s rules and regs and prove the inauthentic lengths the far right is going to create a hate-fueled environment designed to make Canada look like a lawless communist shithole.

In recent times, the political landscape in Canada has seen a surge in the use of social media to influence public opinion. Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has been at the center of this trend, with allegations of using Twitter bots to amplify misinformation about his appearances and policies. This blog post delves into these allegations, focusing on Poilievre’s appearance in Kirkland Lake and other instances where he and conservative groups like Canada Proud have allegedly used bots to misrepresent reality.

The Kirkland Lake Incident

Pierre Poilievre’s visit to Kirkland Lake, Ontario, was marred by controversy when numerous Twitter accounts claimed to be “still buzzing” after attending his rally. Investigations revealed that many of these accounts were likely bots, artificially boosting the perceived enthusiasm for Poilievre’s event[5]. This tactic is not new in political campaigns but raises ethical questions about the authenticity of public support.

Third-party agencies like Canada Proud/Mobilize Media utilize these ‘farms’ to make it look like their client has broad support, as does the person/party who paid for it. They attach keywords and phrases to prompts and activate 100’s thousands of fake accounts to support and promote whatever the Psyop of the day is.

What were yesterday’s buzzwords and prompts for PP? “Still Buzzing,” “Reeling,” and “Kirkland Lake” (and, of course, “Pierre Poilievre).

What were they “Buzzing” about? Poilievre spent 20 minutes telling a group of angry white people that they were broke, dying because Justin Trudeau was selling crack to school children, stealing their paychecks, censoring their thoughts, taxing their kids, and forcing them into sex changes against their will.

It’s pure fascist ridiculousness. It was amplified by inauthentic accounts and paid for by Conservative donations.

You know, bullshit.

Canada Proud and Digital Manipulation

Jeff Ballingall, the mastermind behind Canada Proud and Ontario Proud, has been instrumental in amplifying Poilievre’s messages online. Ballingall’s company, Mobilize Media, specializes in creating shareable, often inflammatory, content that targets Liberal policies and politicians. His techniques include using bots and other digital strategies to boost online communities and harvest data to measure campaign impact[6].

One notable example of this strategy was during the Conservative leadership campaign when Canada Proud frequently posted content mocking and critiquing Liberal opponents while promoting Poilievre. These posts often went viral, thanks partly to automated accounts that shared and liked the content, creating an illusion of widespread support[6].

Canada Proud is currently suing Dean Blundell and Crier Media for suggesting they are contracted by the Conservative Party of Canada to amplify misinformation and negative messaging through various channels.

Amplifying Negative Messaging

Using bots to amplify negative messaging is not limited to Poilievre’s campaign. The broader conservative movement in Canada has employed similar tactics to spread disinformation and misrepresent reality. For instance, during Poilievre’s visit to Sudbury, he made several controversial statements about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s policies, calling them “wacko” and labeling the Prime Minister as an “extremist”[4][7]. These statements were widely shared by conservative-leaning social media accounts, many of which were later found to be automated or fake.

The Sudbury Interview

During his visit to Sudbury, Poilievre gave a one-on-one interview with a local news outlet, where he criticized Trudeau’s policies and expressed his views on various issues. After the interview, Poilievre reportedly inquired about the recording, suggesting a level of concern about how his statements would be portrayed[4]. This incident highlights Poilievre and his team’s careful media management and strategic use of social media to control the narrative.

The use of Twitter bots and other digital manipulation tactics by Pierre Poilievre and Canada Proud raises significant ethical concerns about the authenticity of political discourse in Canada. While these strategies can amplify a candidate’s message, they distort reality and mislead the public. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, it is crucial for voters to critically evaluate the information they encounter online and remain vigilant against disinformation campaigns. And when you see a campaign like this where a political party trying to earn your trust pays for thousands of fake accounts to lie to you, it’s probably a red flag. Just a little bit…

In the words of Pierre Poilievre himself, “We must protect Canadians against disinformation and manipulation by state media”[2]. LOLZ. This statement rings true, but it also reminds us that the fight against disinformation must start from within, ensuring that all political actors adhere to ethical standards in their use of digital media.

Pierre doesn’t have ethical standards. His entire persona is an affront to decency, and none of it is accurate. He, like his partners, are rage-farming dickheads who don’t have any interest in bringing Canadians together.
