After the news of the horrific attacks broke last week in Israel, how did Pierre Poilievre react? By using it to his political advantage.
In their mad haste to twist everything around to “make it the Prime Minister’s” issue, the “boys in short pants” over at Pierre Poilievre’s office put out the following tweet:
Over the weekend, the White House gathered Germany, France, Italy, UK to agree on a joint statement on the Middle East. Justin Trudeau found out in the media.
He is sidelined. Again.

The members of QUINT put out the statement.

Obviously, working from the talking points handed to him, The Sun’s Brian Lilley got in on the action. However, instead of admitting they were wrong, Poilievre and The Sun decided just to plow ahead and still make this about the PM not being respected on the world stage.
We didn’t get invited to join our allies to discuss support for Israel. Canada was not on the phone call, Canada was not part of the joint statement despite having one of the largest Jewish populations in the world. Why? Our allies don’t take us seriously.https://t.co/gPnIdkwE4a

Because who cares about the truth when there are political points to be made?
Mulroney chimed in to help Poilievre.
Former prime minister Brian Mulroney says Canada should fully support Israel in its fight against Hamas — but warns that Ottawa now has only limited influence in global affairs. https://t.co/tN8UtFE4ny

“You’ve got to have the strength and the connections and the influence to make the argument when it is vital,” Mulroney said.
The former prime minister warned that Canada’s international influence is waning at a time when its diplomatic relationships with China and India are at a low ebb.
The rest of the world “appear[s] to be ignoring Canada, obviously, and they don’t have much time for our opinions,” he said. “And that leaves us without influence.”
We saw how well Trudeau is respected and what an embarrassment Poilievre is on the world stage when Biden visited.
Here are some more reactions to Poilievre’s tweet:
The Trudeau Derangement Syndrome is so strong with most members of the Canadian media, even though they know they’re wrong about the joint statement, they won’t delete or admit they’re wrong, they just keep up with it.

We either shut down this nonsense by shaming the politicians who engage in it or we prepare for politics to be overrun by disinformation. pic.twitter.com/6Vu8sRuMnS

#PeePee tweeted this one hour ago. This isn't misinformation, it's disinformation, i.e. knowingly spreading falsehoods. Should we allow this from the 🇨🇦 Leader of the Opposition???? How could he ever be trusted by other 🌎 leaders?? By the 🇺🇸?#PierrePoilievreIsLyingToYou #Quint https://t.co/1qcrghdozV pic.twitter.com/heuX1Z6STk

Does everything, every moment, have to be a reason why Canada is lost and Trudeau is to blame. It’s sophomoric, dishonest and dull. https://t.co/yVBIWLU5dm

Why do Conservatives have to make a horrible situation in Israel about Trudeau. They can’t focus on what’s best for Canadians who wanna come home. They can’t focus on the innocent lives taken. They can’t focus on anything else except Trudeau. Their hatred renders them useless.

Mr. Adler said it best:
A 10 yr old could do a search on why Canada is not in that group of 5. You shut yourself out of knowing national secrets because you don't want a national security clearance. Now it seems you're shutting yourself out of Google. Why do you sideline yourself from growing up? https://t.co/ZG0FndN47k

So, for the record. When Pierre Poilievre heard about the horrible terrorist attack, his first instinct, his top priority, was to use it for his own political advantage. If it hadn’t been QUINT, he and his campaign would have just found something else—anything to make this about attacking the Prime Minister.
He put himself and his never-ending campaign above all else.
