Today in the House of Commons, before question period started, the house had a moment of silence to recognize National Indigenous Peoples Day.

Many pointed out the leader of the opposition, Pierre Poilievre, refused to bow his head.

Here’s the video:

Twitter user Clay Thompson (@harryt59_harry) posted this:

To which I responded with this screenshot from CBC:

Jaro Giesbrecht (@JaroGiesbrecht) replied to G Godwin’s (@gill_godwin) tweet with a video of the moment:

Then, following question period, the house had another moment of silence to honour the pilot and co-pilot of the Royal Canadian Air Force CH-147F Chinook, who died when the helicopter crashed in the Ottawa River near Petawawa.

Bodies of 2 pilots recovered after Chinook helicopter crash in Petawawa, Ont.

Again Poilievre refused to bow his head.

Instead, he chose to stare at the Prime Minister and then look all around. Showing zero respect.

Here’s video:

This after last month, Mr. Poilievre refused to bow his head in a moment of silence to honour Marc Lalonde:

Former Liberal cabinet minister Marc Lalonde died Sunday at the age of 93, Radio-Canada has confirmed

This would be considered disrespectful behaviour by anyone.

However, coming from the person who claims to be “running to be Prime Minister” it is beyond disrespectful.

It’s disgraceful.
