A Duo of Deep Dives
About the Episode
On our second episode of 2020, we’re taking a look at the back and forth that happened surround the apparent removal/then not removal of water and tissues for people testifying in the Alberta Court System, and then we have two deep dives this episode! The first is on what happens when smaller oil and gas companies start to fail, who picks up the tab for their back rent and taxes, and then most alarmingly what is going on with the increasingly overlook problem of orphan wells. Our second deep dive is on the recent efforts by CIty of Calgary Councillor George Chahal to get Calgary Taxpayers to foot the bill for a public safety tax force, which several other city councillors say is a waste of money because it duplicates the existing services already provided by the City of Calgary Police and the Calgary Police Commission. We also take a look at why despite this duplication of costs the premier and the minister of Community and Social Services are backing Mr. Chahal up.
