It’s definitely been a mixed bag of reactions, but if Newton is the starting quarterback come week 1, the entire NFL universe will have their eyes on Cam and what he looks like.
There will be no more excuses, he has a season under his belt, he’ll have an entire off-season, so his play will be his play. Is it fair to assume that his play will be bad? Probably not. Will we see the week 2 Cam vs the Seattle Seahawks, or the Cam that stunk the joint out against the San Francisco 49ers?
Cam Newton has bet on himself, he signed an incentive heavy contract, and he also knows the Patriots are still in a position to search for another quarterback.
