Episode 33 – So Long For Now Wednesdays! Sports Gumbo and our Move to Sundays.
About the Episode
Hosted by Paul C. Cuthbert and Robert Kuney.
Tonight was the last Wednesday showgram before the show moves to Summertime Sundays. The Honchos marked the occasion with another steaming pile of audio goodness. The Honchos kicked off the festivities with some vaccine and mask talk followed by an in-depth investigation into the FAA’s new policy of randomly weighing passengers before flights.
The sack of sports was opened with a recap of Phil Mickelson’s historic PGA Championship win. From there the Honchos took to the ice to talk NHL playoffs, another disappointing end to the Caps season, Barry Trotz, Connor McDavid, John Davidson’s return to Columbus and Wayne Gretzky’s new job with TNT. After talking about the NBA playoffs and Julius Randle winning the NBA’s Most Improved Player award, the Honchos reviewed where MLB stands as it approaches the 50 game milestone.
The NFL Recap featured your weekly DeShaun Watson update, the latest from the Aaron Rodgers-Green Bay Packers melodrama, and Julio Jones wanting out of Atlanta.
The show wrapped with a discussion of Comfort (TX) High School’s overreaction to a rather harmless senior prank and the debut of the Throwback Dope of the Week, a look at a DOTW from years gone by. Tonight’s winner was Jim Zorn, former head coach of the Washington Redskins.
