The Sports Honchos – Season 1 – Episode 12

About the Episode

The Sports Honchos – The lighter side of sports with your hosts Paul C. Cuthbert and Robert Kuney.

Another fabulous episode of the Honchos is in the books, and this time it was extra streamlined for your enjoyment. After opening the showgram with a discussion of the snow that battered the Northeast, Rob’s summer job, and a state-by-state look at America’s favorite Christmas treats, the Honchos ripped through the following topics including the war of words between Coach Nate Oats of Alabama and Coach K of Duke, College Football Playoff chaos scenarios and how Covid is impacting the College Football Bowl season, the Cleveland Indians name change, the Negro Leagues recognition as an official part of the MLB (finally), the new GM’s of the Philadelphia Phillies, Dave Dombrowski and Mets Jared Porter.

The NFL Roundup, included the defense of Gregg Williams, the Ravens-Browns “Hanukkah Miracle” game of the week, a look at the power teams in the AFC and NFC, the end of Thursday Night Football, and whether the Detroit Lions are the elephant graveyard of the NFL.

Jumping off the sports convo for a few mins to talk some entertainment news, the guys chatted briefly on the recent Disney and Marvel rollout of their new shows and movies for 2021 and an apology to Bill Burr of The Mandalorian.

The guys then introduced a brand new segment “A Few Seconds of Soccer” and Paulie corner kicked his way through some of the latest Futbol news from the States and Europe touching on matches of the week, table standings, Europa Cup and European Championship drawings.

Your Honchos wrapped up the show as they always do with the Dope of the Week which was awarded to Coach Dan Mullen of the University of Florida.
