Preseason Game #2: LEAFS AT SENS (TSN4 @ 7:30pm)
Holy hannah boys (and girls) we are back on the ice again tonite !!!
After a proper dismantling of a clearly inferior team last night in Lucan, Ontario (in case you forgot the location) our Toronto Maple Leafs travel to Ottawa to crap kick the same inferior team in Part 2 of Preseason Battle of Ontario.
It has been said many times over that last night was an incredible debut for John Tavares. The newest addition to the Blue and White looked exactly as hyped by scoring 2 goals/1 assist, and I have no reason to think that will diminish in the next 7 years. Projected totals….1 million points.

Mitch Marner must have been absolutely salivating getting to play with elite talent like JT and they showed immediate chemistry together with Marner also registering 3 points on the evening. The little waterbug was everywhere and continues to entertain teammates on the bench.

Tonite, those gems rest.
And line 1B (or 1A….I dont care) gets the spotlight.
According to all reports Auston Matthews is absolutely flying right now. Bad news for the NHL.
There are a few storylines to keep watching.
Goalies: With Sparks and McElhinney having strong games last night how does incumbent Frederik Andersen and Calvin Pickard play with a slightly less experience d-corps in front of them?
Blueline: Let me see where Timothy Liljegren and Rasmus Sandin look in their progression. Can Rosen/Carrick step up like Ozzy, Borgman and Dermott did last evening? How about Zaitsev?
Forwards: With William Nylander waiting to put his name on the dotted line, how does Tyler Ennis look? I am willing to bet this guy shines tonite riding shotgun for Matthews. Patty Marleau, has he lost a step yet? Doubt it.
Johnsson-Lindholm-Kapanen. Yes please.
What about Jeremy Bracco? Where is he at in his development?
So many stories, so many bodies that can play in the NHL right now.
The Toronto Maple Leafs have more depth in their organization than anytime in the History of the club. Fact.
(unless Ingy says otherwise….)
