The Florida Panthers have won the Stanley Cup, defeating the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final.
This marks the first Stanley Cup victory in franchise history for the Panthers. Key points from the game: The final score was Panthers 2, Oilers 1.
Carter Verhaeghe scored the first goal for Florida at 4:27 of the first period, assisted by Evan Rodrigues and Anton Lundell.

Mattias Janmark tied the game for Edmonton at 6:44 of the first period, assisted by Cody Ceci.

The game-winning goal for Florida was none other than Sam Reinhart who beat Stuart Skinner with just under five minutes to go in the second period.

The third period was closely contested, with both teams having power play opportunities. Sergei Bobrovsky made some crucial saves for the Panthers, including stopping a breakaway attempt and having the sprawl out a few times to keep the puck out of the net.

This historic victory caps off a remarkable playoff run for the Florida Panthers, who have now secured their first Stanley Cup championship after reaching the finals three times in franchise history.

The win represents a significant milestone for the organization and its fans, finally bringing the coveted trophy to South Florida. The once laughing stock of the league who could barely draw fans and where away fans would go for vacation and a cheap getaway, can now rejoice in the fact that they reside on the mountaintop of the NHL as Stanley Cup Champions, congrats Cats.
