Guitarist John Frusciante has rejoined the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the band announced on Instagram on Sunday.

Frusciante will replace Josh Klinghoffer, who took over for him as the lead guitarist 10 years ago.

It’s no secret that John has had his ups and downs. This is his 3rd time returning to the band. I could not be more excited. The Red Hot Chili Peppers in my personal opinion have not had the same sound as they did with John in the band. His backup vocals coupled with his Jimmy Hendrix playing style and riffs, we are in for a treat.

I’ve seen them twice in concert, unfortunately both times without John and I was disappointed. You better believe and I am reliving the glory days and going to see them now!

Let’s hope their new music sounds like their old stuff when John was at the helm. I have no doubt that it will.

They are a completely different band when he is in the lineup.
