RIP To The Legend Bob Cole, Here Are His Best Five Game Calls
A voice of a generation, the soundtrack to many memorable calls has passed away. Bob Cole died at the age of 90 on Thursday.
This loss truly had the hockey world at a loss for words as Bob touched many people, he met or interacted with and people like me who never met Bob but listened to him poetically make so many amazing calls. This sadly is the second passing of a play-by-play legend as we also lost Rick Janerette back in August.
Bob did step aside from play-by-play duties in 2019 after starting with Hockey Night in Canada back in 1973, a nearly 50-year career with CBC, where his voice has been missed and now lives in eternity with hockey fans, including his signature “Oh Baby”.
Before we honour the iconic play-by-play man here are 5 of his best calls of all time. Please watch this beautiful tribute that Hockey Night in Canada put out for Bob Cole.

Hi, my name is Griff and I'm a complete sports nut. I love to play sports, watch sports and most importantly bet on sports too. If I'm not watching or betting on sports, you can find me on the golf course, between the pipes as your average beer league goaltender. Although sports take up most of my life, I also love spending time with my two dogs, streaming usually a 90's Simpson's or attempting to read more books.
