Roseanne Barr’s New Show Will Air On X (Twitter) Because 2023 Kinda Sucks

How does one properly start an article with a sigh?

*Sigh*

In news that could only come out of the year 2023 it was announced that Roseanne Barr was joining Tucker Carlson as the latest “canceled” celebrity to get their own show on Twitter or X or whatever it’s called nowadays.

As per the New York Post

Roseanne Barr — who was booted from her ABC show for a vile, racist, anti-Semitic tweetstorm — will team with an anti-woke retail company to launch a show on Elon Musk’s rebranded platform X, On The Money has learned.

Barr, 70, was signed to a six-figure deal by Publicsq, an online marketplace that counts Donald Trump Jr. as an advisor and investor and bills itself as Amazon for conservatives.

The company, which went public via SPAC last month, will be the exclusive sponsor for whatever comes out of the comedian’s often foul mouth when the show debuts this month.

There was a time when Roseanne Barr was considered one of the greatest comedians of all time. Her middle-America approach to humor and boldness stood out from the pack. She was a little bit Joan Rivers and a little bit Sam Kinison. Her show Roseanne and its follow-up The Connors were an unbelievable success. She was a pioneer. Things are different now.

Roseanne’s name is no longer mentioned as part of the history books with fondness. Now they are mentioned in the same tone as Bill Cosby. “It’s too bad about Roseanne. I really liked her.”

As for whatever the hell type of backwards media company Elon is building, it doesn’t really concern me all that much. Celebrities, “canceled” or not will always find a platform and audience. Me, personally, I’m waiting for the Andrew Tate show on X. That’ll cause some chaos and probably make for a great article.
