“Shocking” The Packers Have the Worst Fans in the NFC North

Mar 19, 2023

I have been having people vote on who they believed were the worst fans in the NFL. So far the New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys, and Cleveland Browns, have all been voted as the worst fans in their respective divisions.

Maybe it’s because I’ve been covering the NFL for so long, but not one poll result has shocked me yet. For the past five years I’ve tried to keep my finger on the pulse of NFL fans, and these polls have only proven that football fanatics are very predictable. I may not have agreed with every poll, but the results were still predictable.

So, when I asked people to vote on the worst fans in the NFC North, seeing the Green Bay Packers voted the worst, wasn’t shocking at all.

My Vote – Chicago Bears

This was one of the polls I disagreed with 54% of the voters. The Chicago Bears fan base reminds me a lot of the Dallas Cowboys fans. A group that flexes a Super Bowl that half the fan base wasn’t alive to see. They have delusions every year, and they overvalue most of their roster. I just find Bears fans carry an undeserved arrogance, very similar to Bills Mafia this past season. Ya they’re passionate, and they’re uber confident in their team, but nothing we’ve seen on the field says they have any right to act that way.

As for the Packers fans actually being voted the worst. Legacy teams are immediately going to have a target on their backs. Though Super Bowls have been far and in between, Green Bay fans were almost guaranteed to see the Packers play in the postseason for the last 30 years. When a team is that good for that long, the fan base is going to develop an arrogance. I would caution the cheeseheads, it’s been 13 years since the Lombardi Trophy made its way home to Lambeau Field, so you could pump the breaks a bit.

Aaron Rodgers also adds to some of the destain other fan bases have towards Packers fans. Rodgers is one of the most talented quarterbacks to ever play the game, but he’s really a guy that you love him if he’s on your team and hate him if he’s not. That leads to other fan bases insulting him and Packers fans needing to come to his defense.

All-in-all, we saw another predictable result. I’m excited about the next poll though. I’m asking people to vote on the worst fans in the AFC South. I think I have an idea about which fan base will be deemed the worst, but it will be interesting to see whether the Indianapolis Colts, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, or Tennessee Titans, get the honour of having the worst fans in football.
