Silver Linings: Canada Needs To Thank Trump For Uniting Us All – So Does Mark Carney…

Trump is doing something for Canada that no other President has been able to do. Unite us.
It’s a movement that might crater the US Travel Economy and crush Pierre Poilievre’s hopes of becoming Prime Minister but fuck it. Let’s go with it for a second.
After threatening Canada with Tariffs, Canadians took matters into their own hands. We’re boycotting everything America – from ketchup at home to travel in the US – and it looks like we’re boycotting MAGA’s next choice for PM, too.
Canadians are canceling vacations to US destinations in DROVES, the United States Travel industry is warning of a significant downturn in US-related travel, and Pierre Poilievere is doing fake press conferences in the Arctic.
Maybe things aren’t so bad? LOLZ.
In weeks, many Canadians have been reconsidering their travel plans to the United States. This shift is primarily attributed to escalating political tensions, particularly following (fascist authoritarian) US President Donald Trump’s imposition of a 25% tariff on Canadian imports and his provocative suggestions that Canada should become the 51st US state.
Unfortunately for Pierre Poilievre, many Canadians think Pierre’s “MapleMAGA Party” will make annexation easier for Trump. While we’ve been busy buying Canadian/Canceling US travel plans, Canadians are also running away from Trump/Elon’s choice for PM because we have eyes and aren’t American.
Economic Impact of Canadian Travelers in the US.
Canadian tourists have long been vital to the US tourism industry. In the second quarter of 2024 alone, Canadian residents made approximately 6.5 million trips to the United States, contributing a substantial $20 billion in expenditures. Each trip costs $2500 on average, with accommodations, dining, and entertainment being the primary expenditure categories.
Even a modest decline in Canadian tourism can have pronounced economic repercussions. For instance, a 10% reduction could result in 2 million fewer visits and a loss of $2.1 billion in revenue for the US economy. If these numbers (40%—60%) coming out of the US are accurate, the losses for the US economy are closer to $10- $12 billion, which gives me a big old Canadian “semi.”
Land border crossing into the United States has plummeted, with almost every port announcing no wait times to enter the US, and retail/tourism-related businesses from Bellingham to Detroit are begging Trump to stop the anti-Canadian rhetoric.
🚨America faces a tourism crisis as up to 40% of Canadian travelers are set to cancel or have already canceled their vacations to the U.S. 🇺🇸✈️ #BOYCOTTUSA

Decline in Canadian Tourism: Which US States Would Take it in the Travel Kiester?
Should an estimated 40-60% of Canadian vacationers choose to boycott US travel over the next four years, several states are poised to experience significant economic downturns. States that share borders with Canada or are popular destinations for Canadian travelers would be particularly impacted. These include:
- New York: Known for cities like New York City and attractions such as Niagara Falls, it is a frequent destination for Canadians.
- Florida: Its warm climate and theme parks attract numerous Canadian tourists, especially during winter. In fact, 38% of tourists in Florida are Canadian. So yeah, see you later, condo developments, Universal Studios, Disney, and 1/4 of Palm Beach.
- Michigan’s proximity to Ontario makes it a convenient destination for Canadian shoppers and tourists, including that little Christmas town that sells killer Schnitzel.
- California: Popular for its diverse attractions, including Hollywood and national parks, it draws Canadians year-round. Disneyland is projecting a 20-30% drop in park visits this year, mainly due to Canadians canceling trips to the Magic Kingdom.
- Washington: Like British Columbia, Washington benefits from cross-border tourism and shopping, and one-fifth of season ticket holders for Seahawks/Mariners games hail from the Great White North.
- Nevada: Las Vegas, in particular, is a significant draw for Canadian tourists seeking entertainment. Thirty percent of the city’s yearly tourists are Canadian.
Potential Consequences of a Prolonged Boycott
A sustained reduction in Canadian tourism could lead to:
- Revenue Loss: Significant declines in income for hotels, restaurants, retail outlets, and entertainment venues amounting to $10-$12b
- Employment Challenges: Cataclysmic job losses in the hospitality and service sectors due to decreased demand.
- Local Economies Strain: Communities heavily reliant on tourism, especially border cities, may face budget shortfalls, affecting public services and infrastructure projects.
- Political strain: Section 232 says the President can authorize anything if he deems that thing to be a national threat. Sure – Cratering the US travel economy by boycotting the United States financially might piss off an unhinged Trump enough to invade Canada, but that’s a problem tomorrow.
Don’t Blame Canadians or Liberals – Thank MAGAmericans and Trump…
President Trump’s recent actions and statements intensified the call for a travel boycott. On February 9, a 25% tariff on all steel and aluminum imports, explicitly including those from Canada, was announced. That tariff will start March 4. This tariff will be paid by American steel and aluminum consumers but will result in layoffs in Canada’s steel/aluminum industry. This is especially damaging to American interests—specifically, the Defense Dept.
🇨🇦‘s aluminum production capacity is very much the result of 🇺🇸 defence-bolstering investment in QC & BC, taking advantage of cheap reliable, energy capacity.
A 🇺🇸 tariff on 🇨🇦 aluminum would have the net effect of taxing its own military to make a point that no one understands.

Furthermore, during a press conference aboard Air Force One, Trump asserted that Canada would “cease to exist” if he desired, a statement that has been met with alarm and condemnation from Canadian officials. Trump said Canada stole America’s auto industry (not true; greedy US manufacturers came here to take advantage of the exchange rate decades ago); he wants to take it all back to Detroit and would make Canada a “non-viable” country with the “stroke of a pen.” He also said he wants it to be the 51st state, positing that we wanted it too (92% of Canadians categorically hate the idea).

In response, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has emphasized the seriousness of these threats, stating that the idea of the US annexing Canada “is a real thing” and something Trump is “planning to do.” That sentiment unites Canadians in ways pollsters and pundits have never seen before.
Traitors and the BIG SHIFT
While the wave of national unity continues to sweep Canada like a tsunami, two things are happening simultaneously.
Canadians are seeing their corrupt political leaders’ intentions:
Between Danielle Smith’s Mar-A-Lago visits, Scott Moe’s mocking of Canadian interests, and Doug Ford’s 100 million-dollar gifts to Elon/Starlink, Trump has found a way to exploit Canada from within. All three premiers are huge Trump/MAGA supporters who pretend to look out for Canada while finding ways to enrich themselves and solidify their positions as Trump loyalists and MAPLEMAGATS. They’re opportunists as much as they are traitors to Canada’s sovereignty.
Whether it affects their political fortune is up to us. Still, if Trump does take Canada, you know who’ll be at the front of the line feeding at the trough after parroting Trump’s fake illegal immigration/Fentanyl trafficking stories and refusing to call Trump’s attack on Canada’s sovereignty out by name. That’s how Traitors show loyalty to Trump – and we have few of those in our midst.
“Any Canadian screaming about fentanyl czars, reference Trump’s wishes for Canada as reasonable, is either brainwashed, uninformed/uneducated or willing traitor to Canada.
Trump isn’t our customer. MAGA’s not our friend. America is now a hostile nation to Canadian sovereignty.” https://t.co/hcEoDhkVlz— Dean Blundell🇨🇦 (@ItsDeanBlundell) February 10, 2025
Trump is KILLING Pierre Poileivre’s chances of becoming PM.
Silver linings, kids. Silver Linings. Since Trump took office three weeks ago, Canada’s “Teemu Trump” lead in the race for the PMO has CRATERED. One thought to be a lock for PM with a 30-40 point lead in the polls, Polievre is now in a dead heat with a leaderless Liberal party, depending on the survey.
Canadians are catching a whiff of what the Dollar Store version of Trump might be like as a PM, and it smells. It doesn’t smell good.
The Conservative Party of Canada is shitting their collective pants because their internal polling is worse – especially if Mark Carney becomes the new LPC leader. Every indication is that Mark would enjoy the LPC majority government if he were named leader in this month’s leadership race. It’s forcing PeePee into a significant rebrand that started with him doing a fake press conference in the Arctic about a fake military base PeePee plans on building to protect Canada from “Santa Claus” and other American/Russian threats while preparing a “Canada First Rally” after spending the past three years telling us how much he hates this country.
Someone needs to ask if Pierre believes in Santa now… pic.twitter.com/pmNqUe8YMc

Bold stuff. It won’t work. Pierre is toast and has that diaper-filling, authoritarian, rapist shit bird in the White House to thank.
Thanks, Trump. No, Seriously.
Finding solace in the CHAOS of living next to the newest Member of the Axis of Evil is tough. However, the Trump effect on Canadian Pride is real. So ‘Thanks Trump.”
The potential decline in Canadian tourism to the United States is a stark reminder of the intricate economic interdependence between the two nations. Knowing how important we are to America’s tourism industry is a weapon, and I’m happy to see Canadians acknowledge this through their actions. I’m amazed at the unity we’re seeing and the sacrifices we’re all making by opting for cheaper vacations in Canada or anywhere else. We have Trump to thank for this lift and national unity movement.
We should also thank Trump for giving Canadians a preview of what a CPC/Pierre Poilievre-led Canada might look like: dictatorial, dangerous, incompetent, deadly, embarrassing, and authoritarian.
I’m sure LIberals are quietly giving thanks for the “Trump effect lifeline.”
If I were Mark Carney, I’d put Trump on my Sarcastic XMAS card list.
Fuck, I might send him one myself. After I wipe my ass with it.
