So Matthews didn’t tell the Maple Leafs but Patty Marleau was given all the details?

As a freelance blogger you get to write about whatever you like, from any angle, it’s why I love doing this. So let me start by saying Auston Matthews is my favourite player in the league at the moment and when I decide to go ‘jersey guy’ at Maple Leaf games, I wear #34.
But yes, jers or no jers, this story is still a bit of a surprise to me. I hate publishing shit like this because I am not trying to overblow a small incident and the last thing Matthews wants, is more stories about his night full of drinks. The only thing that really shocked me about the story was the fact he never mentioned it to the Maple Leafs.
When Kyle Dubas mentioned he found out on Twitter (and probably from us because our story was out before anyone #HumbleBrag) I was shocked. And now, we all find out Patty Marleau knew about it and the Maple Leafs really had no clue.
Makes sense though, doesn’t it? Tell your buddies but keep it from your boss? Not when your boss is the MLSE, though…
Marleau on Matthews' legal issue: "There's always two sides to every story, so I had [seen] him in the summer and talked about it and, it's hard how things get played out in the media sometimes so everything is a learning experience and you learn from it and move on."

So what’s up Leafs Nation? We shocked Matthews tells his friends and not his employer? Do you care?
I couldn’t care less to be honest with you, and Dean always tells me to be honest.
