Stop thinking about the Blue Jays; the Leafs are more than ready for the regular season

Oct 9, 2022

Toronto must get their minds off the Blue Jays’ terrible collapse Saturday night because the Maple Leafs are ready to go.

The Leafs wrapped up their preseason with a 5-1 win over the Detroit Red Wings Saturday night. It was probably tough to get into a preseason game after what we all experienced at the Rogers Centre, but the game was a banger. The Leafs dressed all the big boys available and had their big-boy pants on.

Nylander had a couple of goals Saturday night. His first goal was a beauty too. Nylander was able to find space in the attacking zone. He split the defence and rocketed a goal in the top corner. Marner and Nylander set up an Auston Matthews goal. Despite a weak short-side goal in the first period, Matt Murray played a pretty solid game.

This could be the best Maple Leafs team ever assembled. We all know it won’t matter if they don’t get out of the first round of the playoffs, but let’s not focus on that. We’re months away from Toronto having their hearts broken again.

This Leafs team is sooooo fucking good. By the time the puck drops Wednesday night in Montreal, nobody will be thinking about the Blue Jays.
