Bills Give Stefon Diggs a Massive New 6-year, $124 Million Contract

Apr 6, 2022

The Buffalo Bills made a big splash today, extending star wide receiver Stefon Diggs through 2027 for a total value of a measly $124.1 million.

As a New England Patriots fan, I hate writing on this fucking website and praising the Buffalo Bills, but here I am again. Can’t we just go back to Buffalo being loveable little losers? Anyways, Brandon Beane has had a solid offseason so far, and locking up one of the best receivers in the NFL for his star quarterback, has been another one of those good moves.

Some would have to assume that Buffalo is going to have to pay the bill for all these new contracts at some point, but who really gives a shit? The Bills are going all in, and they’re trying to win a Super Bowl. As far as I’m concerned, Beane should have the right to spend every last cent of Terrence Pegula’s money if that means bringing a Lombardi Trophy to Buffalo… That doesn’t mean I have to like it.

Josh Allen seems to be one of the quarterbacks who doesn’t need that true elite receiver to be successful, but having Diggs on the field with him sure makes things easier.

Diggs is a fucking beast, and he’s burnt some of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. There was some talk that perhaps Diggs’ time with the Bills could be coming to an end soon because of the type of money he was going to demand. However, this deal will keep him in Buffalo for a long time.

Bias aside, watching Diggs play football is a fucking privilage. Special players make special plays. Diggs is a human highlight reel.

Since being traded to the Bill two-years ago, Diggs numbers for receptions, receiving yards, and touchdowns are all top 10 numbers. That’s why the Bills had to give Diggs top 10 money. It’s not everyday that you can employ a guy that in just two seasons with your team, caught 230-passes for 2,760-yards, and 18 touchdowns. – Again, as a Patriots fan it makes me sick.

Buffalo is currently the favourite to win the AFC this season, and ensuring that Diggs is locked up long term, allows the Bills to be competitive beyond just a small window. The AFC is ultra competitive, and the Buffalo Bills seemed poised to win it all.
