When I first heard that they were going to be turning the Exploding Kittens Card Game into a TV show I believe I eye rolled so hard I could see the back of my head. Then I read that Mike Judge (Beavis and Butt-Head, King of the Hill) and Greg Daniels (The Simpsons, The Office US and Park & Rec) were executive producing and suddenly I cannot wait for this show!
In addition to a couple of stellar Executive Producers, Netflix announced a pretty aweseome cast.
So what’s it about? The synopsis reads
“In the animated series, the eternal conflict between Heaven and Hell reaches epic proportions when both God and the Devil are sent to Earth – in the bodies of chunky house cats,”
Netflix will also be launching a new digital version of the game that will come out next month (May) and the show will debut sometime in 2023.
What an amazing run for a game that started out on Kickstarter and has worked it’s way into becoming a stable of pop-culture. Score one for the nerds.
