The Guy In Charge Of Bill #C10 Has No Idea What’s In The Bill, Stumbles Like A Moron When Asked To Explain It

This is Canada’s Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault. He’s the one responsible for removing the clause in Bill C10 that allows regular people the ability to create content without interference from Canada’s broadcasting regulatory board, the CRTC.
When asked why the provision protecting independent providers from CRTC/CBSC overreach was removed from Bill C10, Minister Guilbeault went on an incoherent tangent, blaming committees for the change then asked Canadians to trust the same government that’s trying to fuck us.

CTV: Liberal and opposition members of Parliament split along party lines Friday while discussing the public outcry sparked by the adoption of a new amendment to Bill C-10.
The bill sponsored by Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault is intended to update the Broadcasting Act to better reflect how people and companies use the internet, including social media platforms.
The government says the legislation is designed to regulate platforms like YouTube and Facebook in the same way as conventional broadcasters if those platforms distribute video content or music to Canadians.
But Conservative MP Rachael Harder argues the heritage committee went too far by removing a section of the proposed legislation that excluded user-generated content from CRTC oversight.Harder said there’s widespread fear the CRTC could undermine individual freedom of expression by regulating how internet platforms distribute content generated by ordinary users.
Guilbeault disputed that argument later Friday, saying Bill C-10 poses no threat to individual rights that the Conservatives are using public fear to stall or kill the legislation.
Let’s remove this from the political theater.
Yesterday we explained why Bill C10 is bullshit. Big media is trying to regulate the internet because they’ve fucked themselves into the irrelevance corner. They’ve worked closely with Trudeau’s government through lawyers and lobbyists to steal independent content creators’ competitive advantage. It’s in the Bill proposal itself if you don’t believe me.
BILL C10 is only sponsored by Minister Guilbeault, it was created by Bell, Rogers, and their partners who watched content creators destroy their traditional media assets because they are smarter.

Steven Guilbeault’s claims to fame were climbing a tree when he was 5 to protect it from being cut down, and climbing the CN tower as a member of Greenpeace to unfurl a giant banner that read ‘Canada Bush Climate Killers in 2001. Since then, he’s been part of several extremist left-wing movements that endeared him to Justin Trudeau. Now, somehow he’s qualified to completely remake Canada’s media landscape?
Ah, no. He’s as useless as tits on a tomahawk in his current role. He’s a conduit for change being driven by all the wrong people for all the wrong reasons. He’s an empty vessel for Trudeau to use in his attempt to appease, Bell and Rogers want to steal from content providers by subjecting us to the same handicaps that ruined their traditional media assets.
They’ve found the right idiot for the job, too.
Minister Guilbeault is an activist and activists traditionally don’t have a firm grasp on reality. He’s the last person who should be weighing in on ‘Online Undertakings’. He needs to be on a boat in the middle of the ocean ramming whalers, not sponsoring bills to fuck over online content creators.
Because stuff like this happens and it’s fucking embarrassing.
