Demonstrations protesting queer inclusive education are planned in at least 80 cities across the country on Wednesday, with hundreds of people planning to participate in a counter protest in Toronto.
The demonstrations, under the banner “1 Million March 4 Children,” are advocating for the elimination of Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity (SOGI) curriculums in Canada. – per CP24
Are you tired? I’m tired.
I wake up, get three kids ready for the day, go to work, and then immediately start preparing for dinner, bedtime, and tomorrow. By the time it’s all said and done from 6am – 8pm I’m pretty busy. I might watch an hour or two of TV then it’s off bed to try and rest up and start it all over again.
I do not have time to worry about issues that do not impact my day-to-day routine and yet here we are with another set of protests arranged by the village idiots of Canada all in an attempt to save the children.
In the last few years “save the children” has become the calling card of those hiding behind their own ignorance and bigotry. First it was the vaccines, then drag shows and now it’s education. Bullshit. It’s not about the kids. It’s about the adults and their resistance to growth and change.
If a child comes home and asks about anything LGBTQ-related and their parent’s response is somehow automatically anger or fear-based it says more about the parent than the child.
This leads me to the ironic portion of this protest. I’ll bet the average Canadian household has had little to no conversations about LGBTQ matters because it has not come into play in their daily lives. Yet, today outside of your elementary school your child sees a person holding a sign.

Well, that’s going to lead to A LOT of questions and probably education. First an education in pronouns and gender identity. Then an education in what an idiot is.
Protests and civil disobedience are an important part of our democracy. It helps keep the leadership in check, however, drawing an insane amount of attention to a topic you want ignored has got to be the dumbest way of achieving a goal.
