The Raptors starting rotation can hang with anybody in the NBA

The Chicago Bulls defeated the Toronto Raptors 115 – 98 in a meaningless preseason game Sunday night.

I don’t get too high or low for a preseason game. Like most fans, I start caring when the regular season comes around, and wins and losses matter. That doesn’t mean that these tune-up games aren’t necessary. The Raptors played their first game of the season in Toronto Sunday night when they fell to the Chicago Bulls.

Don’t get hung up on the score of the game. The Raptors starters put on a good performance. Even though Chicago came out flying in the third quarter, I was more than satisfied with what we saw from the top ten rotation. Fred VanVleet, Pascal Siakam, Scottie Barnes, and OG Anunoby moved the ball well and, for the first time this preseason, were shooting with some consistency.

The Bulls reserve squad beat the Raptors reserve squad. But make no mistake, Toronto’s starting rotation can hang with anybody in the NBA. I’m ready to get my heart broken again. I’m prepared to go all in on the Toronto Raptors this season. Toronto shouldn’t be seen as a championship contender, but they should be seen as the team nobody wants to face.

What I saw from Toronto Sunday night gives me confidence moving forward.
