The Women’s NCAA Tournament Was 1000x More Entertaining The Men’s Tournament And Here’s Why
Calm down, middle-aged white man! Social media is buzzing with angry old white men getting mad at Angel Reese for dropping a ‘you can’t see me’ to Caitlin Clark in last night’s final game, but we’ll get to that in a second.
At least 80% of people only watched this game because of Caitlin Clarke. No one knows you random. #NationalChampionship pic.twitter.com/4Dg1qzjvMJ

Let’s start from the beginning.
The NCAA basketball tournaments are a highlight of the sports calendar, bringing together the best college teams in the country for weeks of intense competition. While the men’s tournament typically garners the most attention and media coverage, this year’s women’s tournament was a thrilling display of skill, grit, and heart that outshone its male counterpart in many ways.
Reason #1. Caitlin Clarke
Caitlin Clarke is a rising star in NCAA women’s basketball, known for her impressive scoring ability and dynamic playmaking skills. Born in West Des Moines, Iowa in 2002, Clarke began playing basketball at a young age and quickly developed a passion for the game. She attended Dowling Catholic High School in Des Moines, where she established herself as one of the top high school players in the country.
She wound up playing for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes. In her freshman season, she led the team in scoring with an average of 26.6 points per game, setting a new record for the most points scored by a freshman in program history. She also dished out 7.1 assists per game and grabbed 5.9 rebounds per game, earning Big Ten Freshman of the Year honours and a spot on the All-Big Ten First Team.
This season she has been even more of a force. Clarke stands to make more Name, Image and Likeness money than most NCAA basketball athletes this year and that includes the men.
Caitlin talks a lot of shit on the basketball court, as one does when they are the best. Her John Cena, you can’t see me taunt caught the eyes on many across the country, including John Cena.
Even if they could see you…they couldn’t guard you!
Congrats on the historic performance @CaitlinClark22 and to @IowaWBB on advancing to the Final Four! @MarchMadnessWBB #WFinalFour https://t.co/QvpYDTESwb

Caitlin’s attitude has rubbed some people the wrong way and in the final LSU’s Angel Reese did her celebration right back at her and pointed at her ring finger. This put social media up in arms and split because #classless was trending after the game.
What a classless move by Angel Reese. Doing WAY too much to taunt Clark.

Many pundits are coming to the defence of Angel.
If it wasn’t “classless” when Caitlin Clark did it, don’t call it classless when Angel Reese does it. Let the women compete, it’s sports!! pic.twitter.com/lJpS1NId68

If this was in the mens tournament we wouldn’t even be talking about this trash talk.
Over 24 hours later, #Classless, Angel Reese and Caitlin Clarke are all still trending worldwide. The mens tournament hasn’t had nearly as much press. It’s amazing to see. The women deserve all the attention because the tournament was more entertaining then the mens and had much more drama.
It’s also amazing MSM is talking about women’s basketball. This entire tournament has been a huge win for women’s sports and I hope they springboard off this and keep making noise.
