#HotGirlsForBernie was trending tonight and it caught my eye. I made the mistake of clicking on it and it’s a REALLY misleading headline.
I don’t like the content or messaging.
Clearly there is a difference between attractive and unattractive and #hotgirlsforbernie indicates the pictures are just hot chicks.
Wrong.
And it makes me sick.

Do you know what I see?
I see human beings being VERY unfair to women who DON’T think they hot. Do you know how left out this grade school hashtag made some humans feel about themselves? I do. There are a lot of men, women, trans, non-binary people who aren’t good enough to put themselves out there only to be made fun of by social media assholes.
That’s bullshit.
There isn’t a ‘more of an acquired tastes for Bernie’ hashtag, and I feel like that’s a major oversight.

Do you see hot chicks in those pictures? I don’t. I just see people. People who love Bernie Sanders and really want him to be President.
I’m disgusted by the whole thing, actually. ‘Hot’ is a social sexual construct that changes according to values, age, etc, so this hashtag is a powderkeg of unfair. We’ve hypersexualized a certain look or type and frankly, I’m tired of it.
#HOTPEOPLEFORBERNIE or bust! Let’s bring inclusive support to Bernie’s rocket ship to his socialist utopia that doesn’t make fun of ‘ugly unattractive’ people by excluding them.
