I mean, how can you argue with that? That stat that stands out to me is the fact that Phil the Thrill ate hot dogs out of Lord Stanley’s mug and Connor hasn’t even sniffed the holy grail and holds the Iron Man streak. The man is a freak of nature.

However, when you think about it from a winning perspective and take away individual accolades, Phil has him beaten by a mile.

What is the likelihood that McDavid wins 3 cups before he calls it a career? That is a lot of Stanley Cups. We judge our athletes on how much they win and Phil is now a proven winner after he left the Leafs.

As of right now, Phil Kessel has had a better career, but we know Connor may be the best to ever lace them up. Let’s hope he can add a few cups to his trophy case so we can revisit this argument in 3 years.
