Tonight the streak will end, the Toronto Maple Leafs will win and no, KFC is not still open Frank.

The Montreal Canadiens have owned the Maple Leafs for the past several seasons and Carey Price is the only reason why. But, with the way the Habs have started this season, if Price isn’t on his A-game tonight, this game could get ugly. I’m thinking like a 4 or 5 to 1 finish.

The Leafs have started this season like a house on fire, a run and gun style that has been fun to watch for everybody but their Coaches. Although the offense is rolling early on, the defensive breakdowns have been aplenty and Freddie Andersen hasn’t been very sharp. He certainly hasn’t been bad, but I see this game as a statement game for Freddie. He’s going up against the best in the biz tonight, and the good news for him, is the Habs haven’t been able to find the back of the net early on this season. Like, at all.

They have 5 goals in 4 games, Ovi has 25….well, not really, but you catch my drift.

With a few fresh faces in town and the ‘fuck you’ swagger within the youth of the Maple Leafs, tonight can and will be a bounce-back game for the Buds after their trap game against the ‘Mach 9’ Devils. Fuck they were fast, and we all thought the Maple Leafs had team speed, nobody compares to Jersey.

But back to tonight, the Maple Leafs are catching the Habs at the perfect time. The screams for Galchenyuk to be dealt, the GM on a hot seat because of his head shaking moves, and a defensive core that actually may be worse than the Leafs, the Habs are as vulnerable as ever tonight. They are pressing, and it’s early, like really fucking early, that’s never good.

The Leafs, on the other hand, will look to keep getting pucks to the net as it usually takes 40 shots to get a couple past Price, and a couple is all they should need tonight.

To give you an idea of how long it has been since the Leafs beat the Habs, the last win had the likes of Tim Gleason, Carter Ashton, Troy Bodie, Jay McClement, Mason Raymond, Colton Orr, and Joffrey Lupul’s healthy physique.

Oh, have times have changed and the Auston Matthews led Maple Leafs are going to own the Habs tonight.

The best part about it will be the looks on the Hab’s fan’s faces. Disbelieve as their shitty line up continues to have problems scoring. Then they will refer to all their championships, from 30 years ago, and how the Leafs have sucked for longer…

Who the fuck cares, what have you done for me lately, the most relevant line in sports?  Well Habs’ fans, your team hasn’t done shit and is heading down a slippery slope.

The Leafs, on the other hand, will continue to find the back of the net and once they figure out how to limit the defensive breakdowns, look the fuck out.
