Tom Brady compared the NFL season to military deployment, and he would like you to thank him for his service

When you thought Tom Brady couldn’t get any more douchey; he compared playing football to military deployment.

Let’s start by thanking all the men and women who volunteered their lives to fight for their country. Thank you to the families of military personnel for their sacrifices. Let’s also remember those who paid the ultimate sacrifice with their lives.

Back to Tom Brady.

Brady has played football for a long time. Since leaving the New England Patriots, Brady has shown how self-obsessed he is. But this took the cake. On the newest episode of his podcast Lets Go, Brady compared an NFL season to military deployment.

“I almost look at like a football season like you’re going away on deployment for the military,” Brady said. “And it’s like, ‘Man, here I go again. The reality is,” he continued, “you can really only be authentic to yourself. Right?”

If you don’t count earning over $250 million, living in a mansion, taking a team chartered jet, staying in five-star hotels, and never risking your life for the betterment and security of your country, the NFL season is still nothing like serving in the military.

It’s been a rough year for Brady. His marriage is falling apart, his game has fallen off a cliff, and after these comments, I feel zero empathy for Tom. He’s still playing football because he’s insecure, and he’ll do anything not to be forgotten.

Should we all wake up every morning and thank Tom for his service?
