Trudeau deals with real wars while Poilievre plays games with the Right’s fabricated culture wars

While Prime Minister Trudeau is at the NATO Summit dealing with the war in Ukraine and announcing plans to add 1200 military personnel to NATO deployment in Latvia, what is CPC leader Poilievre up to?

He’s busy getting his photo taken with a bigot.

No, there’s no two ways about it.

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith also had her pic taken with the bigot.

Of all the hot takes on this, the internet’s Viva Frei’s was the worst (At this point, I think Frei is eligible for a lifetime achievement award):

To which I responded:

Along with this:

Danielle’s office issued a statement saying that she didn’t read the shirt:

NDP MLA for Edmonton-Highlands-Norwood, Janis Irwin, was having none of it:

As for Poilievre, OF COURSE, he 100% took this pic on purpose. The man claims to be “running to be Prime Minister” and is on a non-stop campaign.

So this image wouldn’t exist if Team PP didn’t want to have it out there.

I don’t believe him for one second when he says he “doesn’t agree with the message” on the shirt.

He just walking it back to try to appeal to bigots and non-bigots alike.

A spokesman for Pierre Poilievre said Monday the federal Conservative leader does not agree with the message of “straight pride,” after he was photographed with a man wearing a T-shirt bearing those words.

Poilievre has spent years yelling at the top of his lungs, saying Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is dividing Canada.

Yet he and the rest of the Convoy Party of Canada threw a hissyfit over the Prime Minister sending out a tweet about Taylor Swift snubbing Canada:

Well, here is Pierre Poilievre, once again, trying to make friends with a bigot!

Of course the hypocrisy here (which is always the point with Cons and their games) is that CPC Conservative MP Matt Jeneroux filed an “official grievance” for all the swifties out there.

Conservative MP Matt Jeneroux says he’s filing an “official” grievance “on behalf of all Swifties” in the country after the singer-songwriter announced nearly 40 new dates for her Eras Tour.

This photo-op is just Pierre Poilievre stoking the flames of the Right’s fabricated “culture wars.”

Drag Queen story hours have been happening for YEARS now.

Trans rights are human rights. Period.

However, suddenly it’s the Right’s new obsession.

Why weren’t they up in arms five years ago if this was vitally important to those opposed to these and any other 2SLGBTQ+ issues? Or a decade ago?

The restrictions for Covid were all lifted. They got all their FREEEEEEDOMS back and needed somewhere to direct their hate.

And here’s Poilievre blowing on that old dog whistle.

He may have had a makeover, but he wanted to tell the hateful bigots he relies on that he’s still one of them. So it wasn’t a full-on “extreme(ist?) makeover” or anything.

The newly invigorated “culture wars” is entirely a fabrication of the Right and used by politicians like PP to divide the country.

Hey, bigots. Other people exist. They have the right to exist.

People have the right to take their children to a library and have a book read to them.

Parents, along with doctors, have the right to make decisions about their child’s healthcare.

Whatever happened to your belief in FREEEEEDOOOOOM?

Saying you’re “socially conservative” or that you’re fighting the “culture wars” is just a chicken shit politically correct way of saying you’re a bigot.

Everyone else is just trying to live their lives, yet you hate mongers are trying to force your beliefs down everyone else’s throats.

So do you ever wonder why it “feels” like Canada is broken?

It’s you, hi, you’re the problem, it’s you.
