USER SUBMISSION: Justin Trudeau Crying “Woe is me” to Brit press. Body. Bag.

Hi Dean I was inspired to submit a News item after stumbling on a News Rant by Max Gold “Craft Poo”, linked in a r/Toronto post.
In the spirit of your site my written submissions on Reddit and Yelp have also evoked high readership views, impassioned discussion, and circulation; topics include marijuana legalization, policing and other local & national news trends.
So Let’s start with a bang, here’s a highly ranked political piece condemning our dear Prime Minister. If it’s too BOLD for ya I gots more SHIT TO SUBMIT.
TEXT
What a load of tripe, Trudeau tells British press “I had to work twice as hard” to get where he is…wow, just wow. That has got to be the overstatement of all overstatements. Not only was Trudeau Sr. one of the most influential Prime Ministers in Canadian History (easily top 3) he was also stinkin rich before his entry into politics and a tenured academic to boot.
And yet Justin Trudeau looked the BBC interviewer in the eye and said he had to work twice as hard to win a liberal seat, ascend to the party leadership and PMO.
Me thinks the Prime Minister is out of touch with the day-to-day reality of average Canadians like you and me.
I happen to be the same age as Justin, born in ’72 about 8 months after the Right Honourable *eye roll * that’s like calling an old classmate ‘doctor’ even though he’s an M.D. now “no you’ll always be Andy the little shit who lived down the block”.. anyway you might say Justin and I live in parallel yet simultaneous universes.
Except I was born in Toronto to immigrant parents…y’know the liberal constituency rank and file types you can count on when the party parachutes a warm body to shore up a riding because politics aren’t what you’d call a meritocracy.
My parents God bless ’em had to scrape and claw to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table. Dad was a welder in Fort Mac and Ma cleaned houses to provide for us. There were ups and downs, addictions, and mental health issues…and more drama than I care to remember.
We moved around a lot and quite often my sisters and I had to bear the heavy blunt. Incidentally, my parents loved Trudeau Senior and continued to vote liberal unconditionally after his retirement from politics.
Sure I got to go to university like Justin but had to take out huge loans to do so…loans I’m still paying off decades later! Heck I didn’t even graduate partly because I had to make a living like most of us. I’m not going to rehash my hard luck story because there are far worse and the many blessings are not lost on me, not the least of which is to be born in the greatest country in the world…Alhamdulillah as they say in arabic thanks be to God.
But I would’ve loved to have Justin’s problems who grew up in the affluent Westmount neighbourhood of Montreal or 24 Sussex in Ottawa. Believe it or not Mr. Prime Minister most of us didn’t get to attend the very best private schools or grow up in a world full of open doors and red carpet treatment.
So spare us your whining because it’s an insult to the Canadians you purport to represent. Canadians like me who have worked harder than you’re pampered ass will ever know.
