To be fair, it’s Air Canada’s discount carrier ‘Jazz Airlines’ which is the Dolllarama of flight and most of the Jazz fleet is made up of old prop planes like this Dash 8.
For a better look at the pants-shitting moment, here’s my man Tom Podolec, aviator, writer, an all-around great guy with some details to calm the nervous flier. Like me.
EXTENDED VIDEO Air Canada Jazz #AC8684 to Saguenay lost a wheel as it departed Montreal yesterday. Sparks were seen prior to separation. The flight returned safely to Montreal.

It’s would have been a larger issue had the second wheel fell off. Good news, that’s why planes (like big rigs) are fit with TWO tires which should put you (me) at ease if you (I) have to fly ‘Dollaramma Air’.
They’ll probably slap a spare on that and just land ‘slower’.
Bon Voyage!!
