Video: Blue Jays Sweep Pirates Ahead of Huge Series in Baltimore

Sep 4, 2022

The Toronto Blue Jays completed the sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates with a 4-3 win. Can the Blue Jays play in Pittsburgh for the rest of the season?

There’s something that the Toronto Blue Jays like about playing at PNC Park in Pittsburgh. Shout out to all the Blue Jays fans that made the trip from Toronto to watch the Blue Jays sweep the Pirates, and there were times it sounded like a home game at Roger Centre.

It wasn’t the greatest of starts for Ross Stripling today. His defence didn’t support Stripling much at some crucial times. It didn’t matter because Toronto moved ahead of the Baltimore Orioles by 2.5 games for the final wildcard spot. Stripling has been the backbone of the rotation, but everybody will have an off day.

The Blue Jays have a tough September ahead of them. They have to keep winning if they want to compete in the postseason. Despite working a little harder for a win today, the Blue Jays looked comfortable in Pittsburgh.

Even though there were some rocky moments, a sweep is a sweep, and it was an excellent series for the Blue Jays. On Monday, Toronto will travel to Baltimore and start a four-game series against the Orioles. Somebody’s playoff hopes could go up in smoke by Thursday.
