Video: Blue Jays Win Wild 18-Run Game, After Trailing 7-0

Apr 9, 2022

Please tell me you weren’t one of those people that turned the Blue Jays game off in the second inning, because if you did, you missed a wild comeback from one of the best fucking teams in baseball.

Starting pitcher Jośe Berrios was chased from the game leaving the Jays in a 3-0 hole, after only recording one out. Berrios left the game giving up three hits, two walks, and four earned runs.

Things didn’t get better for Toronto, Tayler Saucedo gave up two more runs, and after Trent Thornton came into the game, the Blue Jays found themselves down 7-0.

At this point I was trying to figure out a way to make my blog funny, because this game was turning into a disaster, and there was no fucking way the Jays were coming back from 7-0…

What we saw next was indication of how fucking fun this team is going to be this season.

All the momentum had swung to the Blue Jays, and I think we all sat there shocked. When the top of the seventh inning started, the Toronto Blue Jays were leading the Texas Ranger 8-7, after being down 7-0.

Adam Cimber came into the game, and made two quick outs. Then, and because it was one of those nights, Adolis Garcia hit a strange home run, and he ran the bases even fucking stranger. Regardless, the game was tied, again, and I like the rest of you, sat there dumb founded.

Fuck! At this point, you’re just begging somebody on the pitching staff to get their shit together. Can we really depend on the batter to hit Toronto out of this game? Like, they can’t be that fucking good right?

In the bottom of the seventh with two outs, Lourdes Gurriel Jr hit a double to deep centre field. Third base coach Luis Rivera sent Teoscar Hernández who was called out at home plate. However, the replay showed that Hernández got under the tag, and Charlie Montoya challenged the play… Just like that, Toronto led 9-8.

Danny Jansen tacked on a home run in the eight, and gave the Jays a two-run lead heading into the ninth inning.

Markham’s own Jordan Romano came in to close out the game, and the crowd went fucking crazy. Shoutout to the Jays, because the new board and lighting system is pretty fucking cool.

Romano came in, strikeout, incredible catch by Hernández, strikeout, game over, Blue Jays win.

What a fucking game! I’m going to be honest, if I wasn’t covering the game, I probably would have turned it off in the second inning, and missed all the excitement.

Imagine if you were one of the people to do that?
