Wow. Not very often would I tell someone to watch a funeral speech but this is.
Every story about Roy Halladay makes you think he’s a myth or a fictional character you use to tell stories to your kids at nite to bribe them to be good people like Roy Halladay.
That includes the nature of his relationship with his wife. Met when they were 9-12, teenage sweethearts, and married with two kids. He’s their baseball coach and her best friend who are still in love and have their entire lives in front of them after a Hall Of Fame MLB career.
He was Jimmy Stewart Meets Sandy Koufax. He was the prototype of a real man when men are scarce.
Unfortunately, thats what makes this shit so sad.
It’s also what makes this speech by Roy’s wife Brandy so powerful.
