Video: Can We Talk About Wayne Simmonds For A Minute???

Good day, friends. Anyone watch that 5-4 Leaf come-from-behind win in their season opener last night??
Down 3-1 in the second, things looked bleak for the Maple Leafs after Tatar went five hole on a partial breakaway.
Then, this happened.

If you listened to hockey analysts last night they played down Simmonds scrap and what it meant to the team and the come from behind win. They’re all wrong. Wayne Simmonds changed the course of that game last night and everyone who matters knows it.
Fighting still has a place in the league. You saw why last night and it’s something foreign to Leaf fans. Sure, it was game 1 of 56 but that’s EXACTLY why Wayne Simmonds is in Toronto to do. Make his players believe in something more than big goals and personal accomplishments.
The Leafs won that game because of the selfless example of what it means to be a teammate which is foreign to Leaf fans. Period. Stop.
Did Wayne Simmonds really turn this Leaf game around with a fight? Did that just happen?

I’m not sizing Wayne up for a statue on Legends Row, but Wayne made Kyle Dubas look like a genius last night and they both deserved a little head nod after last nights home opener.
So do William Nylander (2g,1a) and John Tavares (1g, 2a) who’re on pace for 190 point season.
Don’t worry Habs fans, we’ll do this again 9 more times, but watch out for Wayne. He’ll getcha.
That. Just. Happened. pic.twitter.com/eDzIa7RgJH
