Canada’s 4-1 loss to Croatia eliminated the Men’s National team from the World Cup. Hold your head high Canada, and just appreciate the ride this team took us on. 

Like the rest of you, I sat on the couch with a pit in my stomach when Marko Livaja put Croatia up 2-1. The optimistic Canadian fan in me held onto faith. The football fan in me knew Canada’s World Cup was over before the referee blew the whistle for halftime. 

That being said, I am so grateful for what this team did for our country.

The Canadian men learned a lot of lessons in Qatar and I can’t wait to see them progress over the next four years. We’ll see you in 2026.
