Source  –  The family of an Ohio high school cheerleader with Down’s Syndrome say he was barred from training sessions because he didn’t fit with the squad’s “image”.

Glenn Wilson, 17, of Columbus was delighted when he was picked to join the West High School cheer team earlier this year and began practising his moves straight away.

But when his starter kit containing training schedules and uniform costs didn’t arrive during the summer vacation as promised, his family grew concerned.

Wilson’s uncle Ray Valentine, 47, contacted the school and says he was told by a cheerleading coach that the youngster was not welcome on her team.

This is too easy to figure out:

  • His weight can’t be the issue because Glenn Isn’t the fattest cheerleader on the squad.
  • He’s not the worst dancer on the team
  • His kicks are magic
  • He’s in step with the rest of the ladies

Pretty much leaves Down Syndrome as the only reason he was gassed.  Outstanding grace and humanity from the school to cut the only kid with Down Syndrome hoping everyone’s dumb enough not to get it.

Glenn, I was on a male cheerleading squad for shits and giggles in grade 10 and you can be on my team any day of the week.

Same with this dude.  Seems like a spotlight hog but I like his spunk.
