Video: Chief Del Riley could “see the teeth of our dead classmates in the ditch next to the residential school we were forced into”

This is Chief Del Riley. He’s the former AFN chief and a residential school survivor. He was ripped from his mother’s arms and the family home and was physically and sexually abused FOR YEARS by a Catholic-run, government-sponsored residential school.
This was the first time he told the story about his experience and if you’re looking for the truth, this is the best place to start. With a story told by someone who lived through it.
Today is a national day of “Truth and Reconciliation” in Canada. This interview with Chief Del is the trith about his experience.
I don’t expect reconciliation anytime soon, thanks to Prime Minister Magic Mike who’s still fighting reconciliation in court.
And you lost the court case where you were fighting having to compensate Indigenous kids, but it is hard fitting all that into one tweet. #cdnpoli https://t.co/8VWbiUbu5P pic.twitter.com/opEscXU1Nb
